LIBER (Ligue des Bibliothèques Européennes de
Recherche/Association of European Research Libraries) represents over 400
member institutions and organisations from more than forty countries and is the
principal association of European research libraries. LIBER has an exciting and
dynamic future programme. Its current strategic goals are in the areas of scholarly
communication and research infrastructures, reshaping research libraries to
meet future needs, advocacy and communications, library management, and the
development of services and facilities for European researchers.
LIBER is currently recruiting an Open Access Project
Officer to implement its current and future portfolio of open access projects.
The Open Access Project Officer will design and manage a 2 year Article
Processing Charges(APC) funding pilot in collaboration with OpenAire.
This is an exciting opportunity to be at the cutting
edge of open access policy and the development of best practice for the
management of APC funds.
The successful candidate will be an highly motivated,
with a strong service orientation and proven ability to communicate with a
broad range of stakeholders. S/he will be passionate about open access and
cognisant of the challenges associated with the shift from subscription models
to Gold open access publishing.

Terms and
conditions of employment
The appointment(F/T) will be for 2 years. The post
will be located in the LIBER Office in the National Library of the Netherlands
in The Hague. Occasional travel outside The Netherlands will be required.
Salary will be based on Scale 10:
minimum 2512 to maximum gross 3804 per month fulltime, plus a vacation
allowance of 8%, and a December allowance of 8.33%. In addition you will be
entitled to 42 days holiday per year. The Labour Agreement is based on the
Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Research Centres (http://www.wvoi.nl/default.asp?cid=92&pid=76/).
Out-of-hours working, including occasional weekends,
will also be expected in association with conferences and meetings.
